Do you think that the IAC should become a Registered Charity?

If you attended the IAC Annual Meeting this year, you would have received financials for last year’s operational budget and seen the funding received to support the budget. In 2012, IAC received a significant $25,000 donation which helped to sustain the revised infrastructure and fund additional trainings. However, in order to receive or solicit further donations, we must consider becoming a registered charity.

We want to ensure that we have sustainable funding to provide best practice trainings that are relevant to your practice. We also want to ensure that we have a continuous process of strengthening the membership to advocate for children and families.  Hence, the IAC Executive is considering making an application for registered charity status no later than August 19, 2013.

As a member of IAC or someone who has an interest in the advocacy efforts of this association, we would like to solicit your thoughts on IAC moving to registered charitable status.
